1996 - The Foundation: Samarth Controls

It all began with the establishment of Samarth Controls, marking our first step into the world of control systems and industrial automation. With a focus on reliability and precision, this laid out the groundwork for decades of innovation in weighing and testing technologies.

2000 - Expanding Horizons in Control & Testing

We developed and supplied advanced control systems for UTM, HDT/VICAT, Weather Testing, and Hydrostatic Pressure Controllers, establishing a reputation for durable, accurate, and industry-compliant instrumentation.

2004 - Our First Smart Weighing Controller

A defining milestone - SMARTfill introduced its first in-house weighing controller, designed, programmed, and manufactured in India. It delivers improved response speed, precision calibration, and seamless integration across food processing and packaging lineup.

2012 - Our First Linear Weigher

A landmark year - we designed and delivered our first Linear Weigher, entering the packaging automation segment. This milestone marked our transition from pure control systems to integrated weighing solutions.

2016 - The Multihead Breakthrough

We introduced our first Multihead Weigher, expanding our capability to high-speed precision weighing. This step positioned us among the few Indian manufacturers delivering advanced combination weighers for food and non-food industries.

2018 - Birth of SMARTfill

With years of experience in control systems and automation, we founded SMARTfill for clear brand positioning - a dedicated entity focused on designing and manufacturing world-class weighing systems under one roof.

2021 - New Home for R&D and Manufacturing

We shifted to our current 10,000 sq. ft. R&D and manufacturing facility, equipped for in-house design and manufacturing of both mechanical and electronic components. The same year, we delivered our first Bulk Weighing System, extending our product range into large-volume applications.

2022 - Gen 2.0 Linear Weighers and First Cut Gate System

We launched the Gen 2.0 lineup of SMARTfill Linear Filling Systems, offering enhanced control, faster weighment cycles, and greater ease of operation. The same year, we also developed our first Cut Gate Weigher, engineered for fertilizers, detergent powders, and other coarse materials.

2026 — New Generation Multihead Weighers

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to unveil our next-generation Multihead Weigher range, featuring advanced combination algorithms, faster speed, and smarter control systems - setting a new benchmark for Indian-made weighing technology.

Smit Patel

With a Master’s degree in Engineering from the USA, Smit Patel serves as the Chief Engineering Officer at SMARTfill . He leads product innovation across electronics, embedded systems, software architecture, and advanced automation development.

His calm decision-making and strong technical depth help translate complex engineering challenges into practical, scalable solutions. From machine intelligence to system optimization, Smit plays a key role in shaping SMARTfill’s next generation of technology.
