The Challenge
Salted peanuts look simple. They aren’t.
The real constraint lies in respecting the product. The thin outer coating, the testa, is fragile and critical to both taste and perception. In the industry, up to 13% breakage or loss of testa is considered acceptable.
But ‘acceptable’ isn’t always desirable.
For Shree Gopal Agri, the goal was clear:
Reduce damage without compromising speed or efficiency.
Because as any Gujarati would put it:
“Fotra vagar maja na aave.”
Salted peanuts without the skin simply don’t deliver the same experience.
SmartFill Approach
Modifications
Instead of forcing a standard solution onto a sensitive product, we flipped the approach.
We engineered the machine around the peanut.
A 4 Head, 3 Litre Linear Weigher was redesigned specifically for this application through focused R&D.

Angled output to ensure a softer, controlled product flow
Each change seems small in isolation. Together, they reshape how the product moves through the system.
The Result
- Industry standard: ~13% damage
- SmartFill outcome: <5% damage
